Triumph to come up with a smaller capacity bike

We recently posted a lot about TRIUMPH making its way to India premium bike segment and we covered its entire line up of bikes. Now, the legendary manufacturer appears to have confirmed that it intends to build smaller-capacity in the coming three years. When interacting with the media, the MD, Triumph Indian operation, Ashish Joshi, commented that the firm is working on a six-year product plan of  ‘a few’ lower capacity bikes.  He said: “It has got a few new bikes. They are of lower capacity” and confirming that “the development time is three years.”

It may be noted that rumors of a small capacity single cylinder Triumph is doing rounds in some corners – have been doing the rounds for some time. Some spy pics of the rumored bikes have surfaced on the web but the exact design of the small capacity bike is yet to surface. However, some sources say that the new single cylinder will have a cubic capacity of 250-350cc. Talking about the need of the small capacity bikes in India, Joshi was reported commenting: “I believe the 250cc-500cc engine bikes will always sell in better numbers.”
