Toyota Kirloskar Motor Increases Prices of Liva, Etios, Innova and Altis

2009 Corolla S

Toyota Kirloskar Motor, the Indian subsidiary of Japanese auto giant, yesterday announced an increase in the prices of almost all its models. This price rise will be effective from September 21st, 2013. Thanks to this price increase, the Liva, Etios, Innova and Corolla Altis will become dearer by upto 1.50 per cent.

The range of price increase for each product is:

– Innova – Rs. 7,000 to Rs. 11,000
– Corolla Altis – Rs. 11,000 to Rs. 24,000
– Etios- Rs 4,000 to Rs 8,000
– Etios Liva – Rs 4,500 to Rs 8,600

The manufacturer says it was forced to increase the prices due to its inability to bear the burden of inflation, falling rupee and increase in the cost of materials.

Now that the Innova just got pricier by upto INR 11000, we wonder if the facelift, which is hardly 15 days away from coming to us, would bring along with a further price increase. The facelift could be costlier than the current model by upto INR 15000. However, it is being hoped that this price rise would be justified by a longer equipment list.
