There has been quite some buzz about the upcoming Toyota Innova Crysta ever since its global debut. The Innova Crysta was also displayed at the 2016 Auto Expo held in Delhi last month and was recently caught testing on Indian roads for the very first time.

The MPV has been spotted yet again, albeit this time with the temporary registration plates, in Karnataka. Earlier spottings of the Crysta saw the MPV in two shades – grey and silver. This duo was spotted sans any number plate and could have been possibly been shuttling from the yard to the showroom. Features on the Innova Crysta would include climate control, ambient lighting and a 7-inch touch-screen infotainment system. Coming to the safety aspect, the MPV is expected to come equipped with dual airbags as well as ABS with EBD as a standard feature starting with the base trim.

Powering the Innova Crysta across the globe is a 2.8 litre as well as a 2.4 litre diesel engine. Sources have added that the Indian version could also come with a sub 2.0 litre variant citing the ban on 2.0 litre and above engines in markets such as Delhi. Power would be sent to the wheels via a six speed automatic transmission or a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The company has not revealed the launch date for the Innova Crysta but with these models being spotted on two occasions in India, the launch seems to be inching closer. The new Innova Crysta will come with a heftier price tag as compared to the outgoing model, courtesy of the high end features. Bookings for the MPV have already begun for an amount of Rs 50,000.
