Only yesterday we gave you a thorough insight into Toyota’s brand new Etios sedan for India. A major story in today’s Times of India says that the car may be priced at Rs 5.25 lakh ex-showroom Delhi. Now that’s some news, (if true that is) as that kind of a pricing for a Toyota branded sedan would probably invoke a stampede to Toyota showrooms. Toyota has enormous brand value in India, and people who have owned the Japanese makers’ cars (and those who haven’t) swear by the reliability and functionality. From Qualis to Innova to Corolla, each car from the marquee in the volumes segment has been a super hit. The Etios won’t be any different, especially with that kind of a price tag, we think. At that price, its hardly Rs 20,000 more expensive than the base variant of the Dzire. At 90 bhp, the engine of the Etios is more powerful than the Dzire’s 1.2 litre mill, and the space inside the cabin is more too.
