Back in the month of May, we had reported a test mule of the upcoming Toyota Etios sedan that was spotted ahead of its launch. Barely a month ago, the Japanese automobile manufacturer launched the mid-life facelift of the Etios and Etios Liva in the Brazilian market. Now, new images that made their way to the web reveal the India spec Toyota Etios siblings.
Rumoured to launch in less than a fortnight, the facelifted Etios duo have been spied in India for the first time. As seen on the global spec model, the models receive an all black grille with chrome lips, a sportier bumper with black inserts and a redesigned air dam up front. Also seen are the new side skirts and a refreshed rear bumper apart from the lip spoiler (for the Etios only). Additions to the India spec model includes chrome enclosures for the fog lamps and a chrome strip running the length of the boot with Etios embossing.
On the inside, the global spec models benefit from a monotone theme, leather wrapped steering wheel, touchscreen infotainment system, redesigned centre console with faux carbon fibre inserts. The India spec model, on the other hand, receives a dual tone theme, beige fabric seats, chrome highlights for the HVAC vents and a leather wrapped steering wheel. A touchscreen infotainment system is likely to be on offer for the top end trim.
Engines are likely to remain untouched and will hence be powered by the conventional 1.4 litre 68 PS diesel engine and the 1.5 litre 90 PS petrol engine. Toyota has not divulged any details regarding the Etios duo or its launch details although reports suggest it is likely to take place in the second week of September.
