Adventure tourers is one particular segment that has remained relatively unexplored in the Indian market. In the entry-level segment, Royal Enfield’s Himalayan is the only product that is currently available in India. But things are going to change real soon.
If recent reports are to be believed, KTM’s much talked about entry-level adventure motorcycles may already have some more competition. A report published by motoring portal AutoCar India suggests that German two-wheeler brand, BMW Motorrad, may introduce an G 310 R based adventure tourer motorcycle in the future. Expected to be christened as F 310 GS, the upcoming motorcycle will give some tough time to the Royal Enfield Himalayan and the upcoming KTM adventure series.
The adventure tourer will draw power from the same 313cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder motor that will propel the G 310 R. The engine is expected to receive the same power output too but the tuning to match its adventure tourer character. The motorcycle will also get a rugged build and taller suspension to tackle those rough roads off the tarmac.
The motorcycle, as reported, is expected to make its debut at this year’s Milan motor show.
