Toyota recently launched the Etios Cross in South American markets like Brazil and Argentina. Now, Toyota will be soon launching the car in the Indian market. The Etios Cross was spied in Pune by our friend Sanket Bansod. The car was in Pune for a commercial film shoot, which is the proof that Toyota Kirloskar Motors will be launching the car in India soon.
In India, the car will be powered by the same engines used on the normal Etios Liva. The Etios Cross is nothing but a Liva with visual changes. With Toyota bringing this car to India, the recently launched Volkswagen Cross Polo, which is again a Polo on steeroids, will have to worry a bit.
Visual upgrades to car on the exterior front come in the form of a silver skid guard and an additional front bumper. Black plastic moldings run on the front, sides and rear of the car. The roof rails are also an addition and our silver colored, similar to the Argentinian Etios Cross.
A set of reflectors sit near the grille and the car also gets a set of auxiliary lamps. The diamond-finished alloys compliment the rugged feel of the car.
On the interior front, the Etios Cross is expected to receive chrome treatment for the aircon vents, and the seat fabrics will have ‘Etios Cross’ embroidered on them.
Toyota will most likely launch the Etios Cross only in the top-end V and VD variants. We can safely expect Toyota to showcase the car at the Delhi Auto Expo next month.
