Land Rover recently introduced the all-new Range Rover to India with a 3.0 liter v6 engine in India. Earlier, the vehicle was available only with more powerful 4.4L V8 diesel and 5.0L supercharged V8 petrol engine options. A 3.0 liter diesel option is more than sufficient for the Indian driving condition, and should help Land Rover get more units off the showroom with a lower price tag.

The new 3.0 TDV6 diesel engine produces 258 of peak power at 4000 rpm, and 600 Nm of peak torque at 2000 rpm.  The engine is paired with the advanced electronically controlled ZF 8 speed automatic gearbox, which has been tuned by Range Rover engineers to smooth shifts with quick response and good fuel economy. The 2013 Range Rover, with the 3.0 litre diesel engine, is available in two trim levels- HSE and Vogue. The HSE is priced at INR 1.44 Crores and the Vogue is priced at INR 1.64 Crores.

Land Rover is claiming a 0-100 kmph sprint time of 7.9 seconds for the vehicle which weighs 2.16 tonnes. Not bad at all!
