Compact SUVs don’t usually walk the ramp. They can be funky at best, but the new Toyota C-HR might just be winning a few crowns here. Less than two years after Toyota released their C-HR Concept, the production model that it previewed has been officially revealed, before it makes its global debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month. When it goes on sale in early 2017, the C-HR will rival crossovers like the Fiat 500X, Jeep Renegade, Mazda CX-3 and of course, the quirky, yet popular Nissan Juke.

Based on the Japanese manufacturer’s global TGNA platform, the C-HR is a Juke fighter that chooses allure over funk. Though the reindeer’s antler like front end styling is plenty hot, it’s the rear that does it for us. The way that floating roof slopes down and caps that wraparound rear window is a sight that’d put most pseudo utility vehicles to shame. It  further impresses with its aggressive rear spoiler, bulbous tail lamps and bodywork that has been chiseled by people who know how to make a car look dapper. The C-HR will sit below the RAV4, while being powered by a full hybrid petrol-electric power-train; the technical details of which haven’t been released yet.
