Teaser- 2014 Porsche Macan to be ‘uncovered’ soon

Porsche has released what seems to be the final teaser video of the highly anticipated Macan compact crossover. The 2014 Porsche Macan will make its public debut at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show in December and will become the second SUV in German performance car maker’s product portfolio.

Porsche claims that the upcoming SUV is a “compact, concentrated and intensive” performance oriented vehicle that is “practical but never ordinary.” Hinting at the upcoming car’s styling, Porsche has said that the model will boast of a “sharply contoured side profile with a sporty sloping roof line.”

Other than having a rakish roof line, the car will come with a sporty window line and a ‘clamshell’ hood. The Macan, in all probability, would look like a smaller sibling of the Cayenne (which is not really a bad thing). However, going by various spy pics we have seen so far, the car will surely have its own identity and would probably look more athletic.

The Macan, akin to most of the Porsche models out there, will be sold in both Turbo and non Turbo variants.  The Macan Turbo could be powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 with around 375 PS of max power. Along with a 2.o litre petrol engine, the regular Macan could also get a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder oil burner for markets like that of India. All the engine variants will come with a 4×4 system. The Macan is underpinned by the same platform that will underpin the next gen Audi Q5.

The 2014 Porsche Macan is expected to make it to India by the end of next year.
