Tata Zest overtakes Honda Amaze in sales race for the month of October

Tata Zest receives 10K bookings within 20 days of launch

We believe that Tata Motors is ticking all the correct boxes with its newly introduced compact sedan, the Zest. This latest offering from the Indian car major has successfully outdone Honda’s best selling compact sedan, the Amaze, in terms of sales for the month of October.

Tata has managed to sell 3,524 units of the Zest during the month of October as against 3,482 units of the Honda Amaze. Maruti continues to top the list with its Swift Dzire clocking sales numbers of 18,000 units in October. Hyundai Xcent, with over 4,600 units sold, was second on the list. With these new numbers, Tata Zest comes up to number three in the list of sales of compact sedan. Tata Zest received a positive response from the audience as the compact sedan received over 10,000 bookings within 20 days of launch.

The Tata Zest is powered by a 1.2-litre turbocharged Revotron engine that churns out 90 PS of power and 140Nm of torque. The diesel engine on the other hand is the familiar 1.3-litre Quadrajet unit which comes in two power variants – 75 PS of power with 190Nm of torque and 90PS of power and 200Nm of torque.

Do you think Tata can continue with this upward spree and outdo Hyundai Xcent and Maruti Swift Dzire to top the chart of compact sedans? Share your thoughts and opinions with us through comments below. Stay tuned to Motoroids for more updates from motoring industry.
