Regulars here would know that we reported in considerable detail when the new Tata Zest was officially unveiled prior to Auto Expo 2014. Now, Tata Zest official website has gone LIVE and here are all the details you need to know about the upcoming model.

Tata Motors has said that the name Zest “signifies enthusiasm for life, for the sense of excitement, anticipation, and energy it brings, approaching life as an adventure. It is all about being vivacious and energetic” and the new compact sedan has been designed by Tata Motors’ design studios in Pune (India), Coventry (UK) and Turin (Italy). The Zest is 3995 mm long, 1695 mm wide and 1570 mm high. The Zest tips the scales at 1,106 kg and as a fuel tank capacity of 44 liters.

Compared to the Manza, the Zest sports a new grille and new projector headlamps. At the rear, the car gets new design wrap-around tail lamps. On the inside, the compact sedan gets a new dashboard, a new steering wheel, and new rugby shoulder seats. The car comes equipped with a touchscreen unit that has the controls for the AC and infotainment system.

Powering the new Zest is a new four pot 1.2-liter turbo petrol Revotron engine that has a max power of 85 PS @ 5,000 rpm and peak torque of 140 Nm @ 1,750-3,000 rpm. Powering the diesel variant is the tried and tested 1.3-liter Quadrajet common rail turbo diesel engine. This engine has a power of 90 PS @ 4,000 rpm and peak torque of 200 Nm @ 1,750-3,000 rpm.
The diesel variant will come with F-Tronic 5-speed Automated Manual Transmission.
