Tata To Supply 25k EVs To Uber; Signs MOU

Tata Motors said that it will be supplying 25,000 XPRES-T EVs according to a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Uber.

The ride-sharing app will introduce these EVs into its premium category service fleet. As per the MoU signed between Tata Motors and Uber. The former will be aiding the latter in electrifying its services across Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad.

Tata will begin the deliveries of the XPRES–T EV to Uber fleet partners in a phased manner starting this month. Uber has committed to 100% of rides taking place in zero-emission vehicles, on public transit, or with micro-mobility by 2040.

About The Tata Xpress-T EV

In July 2021, Tata Motors launched the ‘XPRES’ brand exclusively for fleet customers, and the XPRES-T EV is the first vehicle under this brand.

Based on the Tigor, the XPRES-T electric sedan comes with 2 high energy density battery-pack options. A 26kWh battery good for 315 km or a smaller 25.5kWh battery. With the smaller battery pack, the Xpres-T will give a range of 277 km.

The smaller range XPRES-T gets charged from 0-80% in 59 mins while the long-range version gets charged in 110 mins.

Offering customers our environmentally friendly EV ride experiences via Uber’s Premium Category service will accelerate the adoption of green and clean personal ride-sharing. The XPRES-T EV is a very attractive option both for customers and operators.”

This partnership will further cement our market position in the fleet segment.” He adds.
