Tata Tigor EV Gets More Range and Features

Tata Motors has recently unveiled the updated electric version of its 4-star safety rating bagger, the Tigor.ev with a new exterior paint colour option called the Magnetic Red from its ICE version, 10 new features to up its premium quotient, and an added range of 9 km taking its total range figure to an ARAI-certified 315 km per charge. Tata Motors has the largest line-up of electric vehicles in their portfolio like the Tiago.ev, the now updated Tigor.ev, the Nexon EV Prime & the Nexon EV Max.

Pricing

The updated Tigor EV comes at a starting price of Rs 12.49 lakh going all the way up to Rs 13.75 lakh. Tata has also added two new variants called the XT replacing the earlier XM and XZ+ Lux to the Tigor EV’s variant line-up. This means that the electric subcompact sedan will be offered in a total of 4 variants; the entry-level XE at 12.49 lakh, the XT at 12.99 lakh, the XZ+ at 13.49 lakh & the XZ+ Lux offering creature comforts as well as cosmetic upgrades like a contrast black roof, leatherette upholstery and leather-wrapped steering wheel.

The 2022 Tigor EV’s battery pack is rated IP67 for dust and water resistance and has a capacity of 26 kWh while its electric motor is good for producing 76 Ps of maximum power and 170 Nm of peak torque which helps the Tigor.ev to cross the 60kph mark in a claimed 5.7 sec. Furthermore, features like auto headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, Cruise control, Multi-Mode regen, Smartwatch Connectivity, the brand’s Connected Car technology i.e. ZConnect, iTPMS, and a tyre puncture repair kit are also on offer with this version.

The new Tigor.ev also sports a four-level regenerative braking with level 0 being no regen while level 3 has the regen working at its strongest. This also comes integrated with brake light activation as when the regen will be working and slowing down the vehicle, the brake lights will turn on.

For Existing Tigor Owners

As earlier done with the Nexon EV Prime, Tata Motors will be extending a free-of-cost feature update pack to the current Tigor.ev owners through a software update where customers can get their vehicles upgraded with Multi-Mode Regeneration, iTPMS and Tyre Puncture Repair Kit. Additionally, the existing XZ+ and XZ+ DT customers can also get a Smartwatch connectivity upgrade. This service can be availed by visiting any Tata Motors’ authorized service centre starting 20th December 2022.
