What you see here are the first images of the Tata Safari Merlin. Regular readers would remember that Motoroids was the first publication to bring out in the open the images of the new Safari. Tata Motors have been working hard on the new SUV for quite some time now. The Merlin will be a significantly upgraded product in terms of technology and features when compared with the current version of the car. A couple of undisguised pictures of the car spied earlier reveal that the Merlin will share its dimensions and shape in profile with the current gen Safari. The front bonnet, fender, headlights and other elements will be altered a bit, and changes will be made to the rear as well.
From the inside, as the new picture reveals, the Safari will get a generous dose of brown wood inserts positioned horizontally across the dashboard. The instrument cluster will comprise of a new speedo tcho binnacle and the steering wheel will be a four spoke unit. The two tone interiors are done in black and beige with the dashboard being done in black, and the rest of the upholstery done in beige. The picture here seems to be that of the lower end variant of the Merlin as it neither has an audio system nor steering mounted controls. We expect the top end version of the Merlin to feature all the technologies seen on the Aria.
