Just yesterday, we reported that Tata Motors plans to launch a new XZ variant of the Nexon compact SUV. A leaked brochure scan of the model revealed the details and features of the new Nexon XZ variant. Now, the Tata Nexon XZ variant has been launched in India, with prices starting at INR 7.99 lakh and INR 8.99 lakh for the petrol and diesel trims respectively (all prices, ex-showroom, Delhi).
Slotted between the XT and XZ+ variants of the Nexon, the new variant of the compact SUV from Tata Motors receives a few extra features over the XT variant while missing out on a few features when compared to the XZ+ variant. Features for the exterior include projector headlights, electrically folding ORVMs, rear camera and parking sensors while missing out on LED DRLs, dual tone roof, alloy wheels and rear fog lamps.

Inside, the Tata Nexon XZ variant comes equipped with a 6.5 inch floating touchscreen infotainment system, Harman sourced eight speaker audio system, Android Auto compatibility, climate control, height adjustable driver seat, rear HVAC vents, USB fast charger and a cooled glove box. Safety features such as dual airbags, ABS and EBD are already available across the variant range as standard.
The Tata Nexon XZ variant can be had with either a 1.2-litre petrol engine or a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The petrol motor is capable of producing 108 hp and 170 Nm of torque while the diesel motor produces 108 hp and 260 Nm of torque. Transmission duties are handled by a six speed manual transmission which is available as standard. An AMT variant, which was showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo last month, is likely to be launched soon.
