Tata Motors recently shared a teaser image hinting about what the company would be showcasing at the upcoming 2018 Auto Expo to be held early next month. Now, if a new report is to be believed, Tata Motors will also bring the AMT variant of its compact SUV, the Nexon, at the biennial event next month.
It is said that the Nexon Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) will be available in both the petrol and diesel variants. Upon launch, the Nexon with AMT would most likely be available in the XTA and XZ trim levels. Save for the new AMT badge, expect no visual changes or feature updates as compared to the Nexon with the manual transmission.
Engine options on the Nexon AMT will be the same 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine and the all new 1.5-litre Revotorq diesel engine. Currently, these models are available only with a six speed manual transmission. Once launched, that Tata Nexon will be the company’s fifth product to feature the AMT gearbox after the Nano, Zest, Tiago and the Tigor.
