Tata Nano Facelift to be Launched with the Diesel variant

The Tata Nano loves being in the limelight. Not a week passes without us posting an update on the small wonder from Tata. While it is now a widely known fact that the Tata Nano Diesel will be launched this year, a TeamBhp member has posted what is probably the first-ever pic of the Tata Nano facelift. The Tata Nano facelift was spotted testing in Bangalore and from what can be made out from the image, the updated car would sport a revised tail lamp cluster and chrome garnishing for tail lamps. The photographer said that apart from these two changes, the car caught was visually bog similar to the current version.

However, the interesting bit is that the photographer claims that he could hear diesel clatter from the car and this means that the facelift would debut on the diesel variant.

It is being said that the Tata Nano diesel will have an astonishing fuel economy of close to 40 kmpl! This means that the Nano diesel might be the ultimate answer to ‘average kitna hai?’ question that our car buying lot loves to ask. What makes the deal even sweeter is the fact that diesel is considerably cheaper than petrol. The running cost of Tata Nano diesel turns out to be less than Re 1.5 per kilometre!
Powering the Tata Nano diesel will be an 800 cc motor that will employ Honeywell turbocharger for forced induction. Coupled with the 15 liter fuel tank, Tata Nano diesel should easily have a range of about 550-600 kms on a tank full of diesel!

The diesel variant will be launched with the fully functional 5th door, i.e. a hatch for easier access to increased boot space. The car will also feature front and rear bumpers.

A mid 2013 launch is being speculated for Tata Nano diesel.
