It is no secret that the Tata Manza hasn’t managed to take the lower C segment by storm. We reported in detail when it emerged that the Tata Motors plans to launch an array of revisions in its current car models.

One of the measures that Tata intends to take is that of the price correction for various models in the Indica and Indigo series. The latest development on this line is that Tata Motors has officially announced the price revision for its Manza sedan and the car now costs as much as INR 50,000 lesser. This price cut is applicable to all the diesel variants of the slow selling sedan.

Furthermore, Tata Motors has launched a buy back scheme for the Indigo Manza sedan which provides the Manza buyer with a proposition to sell the car back to the manufacturer after three years of usage and for 60% of the new car’s selling price.

2013 Tata Manza Revised Prices list is as follows-

Manza base model – New Price- Rs. 5.99 lakhs ; Old price – Rs. 6.49 lakhs

Manza LX    – New Price- Rs. 6.54 lakhs; Old price – Rs. 6.93 lakhs

Manza VX   – New Price- Rs. 7.19 lakhs; Old price – Rs. 7.55 lakhs

Manza EX    – New Price Rs. 8.14 lakhs; Old price – Rs. 8.43 lakhs

Thanks to the major price correction, the Manza now costs considerably lesser than the high selling Marut Swift Dzire, a car which has been ruling over the entire lower C segment ever since it was launched.

The Tata Manza is a pretty well sorted out car that has a long equipment list which includes high end features like a touchscreen music system and sat-nav. Powering the diesel variant of the Manza is the tried and tested Fiat-sourced Multijet engine that also powers many other sedans in the C segment.

It would be interesting to see if the latest price correction would see many new car buyers heading to Tata Motors dealerships.
