That the Jeep brand is close to entering the fast growing Indian car market is a known fact. While we always knew that the Jeep vehicles will be launched in the second half of this year, it has today emerged that the Chrysler-Jeep vehicles will be introduced in to our car market duering the festival season (read: October) this year.

Mr. Mike Manley, CEO of the Jeep brand earlier said the Jeep will commence its Indian innings with two of its most popular models- Grand Cherokee and Wrangler. Later, our exclusive spy shots revealed that the Wrangler will come to us in both 3 door and 5 door body variants.

We reported in detail when the new 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee was unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show that was held in January this year. It later emerged that Fiat India’s 1,000-member strong engineering team in Chennai had a big role in the development of the updated Grand Cherokee.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee, three door Jeep Wrangler and five door Jeep Wrangler have been spotted testing in and around Pune on numerous occasions. It is being said that these three Jeep test mules will be rigorously tested in the sub-continent and will also take part in several marketing events that will take place all over the country.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee and the Jeep Wrangler is not all that is coming to us. Jeep will also launch a B-Segment SUV in 2015 and will launch a C-Segment SUV in 2016. Jeep India will have a dealer network comprising of 82 dealers and even more service centres.
