The Honda Brio based Amaze sedan has to be among the most awaited car launch in Indian market this year. The Honda Brio Amaze sedan might be the turnaround specialist for the Indian subsidiary of the Japanese auto giant and looks poised to make life tougher for the high selling Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire.
The Honda Brio Amaze looks all set to become the cheapest Honda sedan to be sold in Indian market and will also be the first diesel powered car by the Indian subsidiary of Japanese auto maker.
It may be noted that Honda has been seeing a drastic drop in its sales figures since some time. Most of it can be attributed the increasing popularity of diesel powered vehicles and the lack of diesel engine variants from Honda. All this is sure to change with the advent of the Honda Brio Amaze which will get both diesel and petrol engine variants.
The Honda Brio Amaze is less than four metres long and will hence enjoy the excise duty benefits from the Government of India. Safely expect Honda to pass on the benefit to the car buyer by pricing the new car aggressively (Low prices is something that hasn’t been Honda’s forte till now).
Powering the diesel variants of the Brio Amaze will be the 1.5 litre i-DTEC Earth Dreams diesel engine that has been developed alongside the much publicized 1.6 litre i-DTEC Earth Dreams diesel motor. This engine is being said to be high on efficiency and power. The petrol engine on offer will be the same 1.2 litres i-VTEC engine that powers the Brio hatchback.
More details of the Honda Brio Amaze have today surfaced on the cyber space. It is being said that the initial lot of Honda Brio Amaze cars, which consists mostly of the petrol variants, has already reached the dealerships.
Other new details that have emerged about the upcoming car is that it would have a ground clearance of 165 mm and that the sedan’s top end variant will be christened as the VX. Equipment on offer will include dual airbags, ABS with EBD, 8 spoke 14” alloy wheels, height adjustable driver’s seat, rear defogger, ORVMs with turn indicators and rear seat arm rest with cup holders. The petrol variant will get an option of the automatic transmission. The VX trim level will also be introduced in the Brio hatchback.
Thanks to tradition Honda strengths along with a potent diesel engine, the Brio Amaze should do amazingly well in our car market, Fingers crossed.
