First displayed at the 2016 Auto Expo as a concept, the Tata Kite 5 is essentially the Tiago hatchback stretched to compact sedan lengths, which, in India, is under 4 meters. Now, an undisguised, production-spec Kite 5 has been spied sitting at what appears to be a multi-car dealership. Now this is the second instance where the production-spec model has been spotted without any camouflage, the first being a light blue coloured example spotted in May.

The sub 4 metre long compact sedan spotted here sports a shade of white, and in its production guise does away with the blacked out roof section that was earlier seen on the model displayed at the Auto Expo. The rest of the visuals have been honestly carried over from the concept, and include a chrome strip running between the tail lamps, an integrated spoiler, and a radio antenna. The smaller, production friendly wheels from the Tiago also tend to make the Kite 5 a bit fat from the sides, but the coupe-like silhouette does make it one of the better looking compact sedans out there.

The interiors are no different from the Tiago but feature an all-black colour scheme, while the rear seat will get an integrated arm-rest. Features will include the punchy Harman infotainment system with USB, aux and Bluetooth connectivity, while ABS, dual front airbags, alloy wheels and fog lamps will be available on the higher variants. Like the Tiago, propelling the Kite 5 would be the 1.2 litre Revotron petrol engine and a 1.05 litre Revotorq diesel engine. The former will produce a power output of 83 hp and 114 Nm of torque while the latter is good for 69 hp and 140 Nm of torque. These engines will send power to the front wheels via a 5 speed manual transmission, while an AMT option cannot be written off either.
