Only few days back, we reported that the highly awaited Tata Vista facelift, which will make its debut at the fast approaching Auto Expo 2014. Now, it has emerged that the upcoming model will be called the Bolt and will be launched sometime after its public debut. CLICK HERE to read about all the 40-odd cars that are headed our way in 2014
As per the manufacturer, the upcoming Tata Falcon 4 aka Vista facelift aka Bolt is for “those who love life, live for the moment and yearn for exciting new experiences”
It is being said that the Bolt will be marginally longer than the Vista hatchback. This would be due to a set of new bumpers, that would be a part of the new car’s front and rear fascia. The new model will also sport a new front grille and a set of new headlamps, all of which are likely to come from the Manza hybrid concept we saw at the 2012 Auto Expo. However, the biggest change would be at the rear. The 2014 Tata Bolt aka Falcon 4 will not get the typical X-Mas tree treatment for its taillamps and would instead have conventionally styled units. The registration plate housing too would move upwards and on to the rear hatch.
On the inside, the hatchback will have higher quality of materials and the speedo console would go back to where it should have always been, right in front of the driver.
Engine options for the Bolt are likely to consist of the Fiat sourced 1.3 ltr Quadrajet common rail diesel motor and a new 1.2 litre turbo petrol engine that would make its debut with the soon to be launched hatchback.
Quite obviously, prices for the Bolt hatchback would be somewhere between those of Vista and Manza.
