Tata Aria Pure LX 4×2 Launched @ INR 9.95 lakhs

We have always felt that the Tata Aria is a well engineered car and deserves a better response from the Indian car buying lot. We had earlier reported that a new base variant of the Aria was in the pipeline and now, Tata Motors has launched the cut price version of the slow selling crossover in our rapidly growing car market.

Christened as the Tata Aria Pure LX, the new 4×2 variant is priced at INR 9.95 lakhs (ex-showroom New Delhi ) and will battle it out against the Toyota Innova and the Mahindra XUV500.

The new Tata Aria Pure LX continues to be powered by the 140 PS, 2.2 Litre diesel motor but comes with a single mass flywheel instead of the dual mass flywheel which is found in the higher variants.

Tata Aria Pure LX misses out on the following features:- Airbags, ABS with EBD, leather upholstery, audio system, rear wash-wipe, rear defogger, Follow me home headlamps, chrome interior door handles and chrome garnishing on the air dam.

However, the Pure LX retains projector headlamps, key less entry and disc brakes on all four wheels.

It will be interesting to see if the new variant will be successful in making things better for the ‘not so popular’ Aria.
