Mitsubishi Pajero Sport gets a Price Cut of Almost INR 2 Lakhs

Regulars here would remember that we had reported in detail when Hindustan Motors had stated that the local assembly of the recently launched Pajero Sport would start in a few months of time and this would allow the manufacturer to bring down the prices of the new car by a considerable margin.

Now, Hindustan Motors-Mitsubishi has commenced the local assembly of the Challenger, nay, Pajero Sport at its Tiruvallur plant in Tamil Nadu. The car, which was earlier being sold for INR 24.43 lakhs (ex-showroom New Delhi), has been now priced at INR 22.56 lakhs, a drop of almost INR 2 lakhs.

The price slash comes soon after the launch of Mahindra Ssangyong Rexton and it remains to be seen if the Pajero Sport would be able to pose a serious threat to the new arrival. HM-Mitsubishi is aiming for a 20% market share in the entry level executive SUV segment.

The Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is powered by a 2.5-litre oil burner that produces a healthy power-torque figure of 178PS-400Nm and the car offers an option of ‘on demand 4WD system’.

The car has an approach angle is 36 degree where as the departure angle is 25 degree with 23 degree break-over. The Pajero Sport rides on 17-inch alloys shod with 265/65 R17 tyres.

The interiors of the Pajero Sport gets leather upholstery, MP3 player, MID, automatic climate control system, audio controls on steering, self-levelling projector headlamps, rear parking sensors, rear wash/wipe with defogger and altimeter & barometer combo that comes from the old Pajero.

The latest SUV from Mitsubishi is loaded with safety features like dual airbags and ABS & EBD.
