Suzuki SX4 S-Cross showcased in Malaysia

The Suzuki SX4 S-Cross is expected to reach the showrooms very soon as the car maker has showcased this upcoming compact crossover prior to its launch. The model was showcased at a roadshow held in Matrade exhibition centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Test mules of the car have been spotted several times in India. Most recently, the interiors were also snapped giving us a clearer idea as to what to expect in the SX4 S-Cross.

These latest images from Malaysia give us an even clear picture of this upcoming compact crossover including the interiors of the car. From outside, the model on display had a three slat grille with Suzuki’s logo at the centre, projector headlights with LED daytime running lights and a huge sunroof. On the inside, the SX4 S-Cross gets steering mounted controls, a start/stop switch and black dashboard with silver housings on air-conditioner vents and centre console. The model on display is the top of the line variant with automatic transmission. The new SX4 S-Cross will be beefier than the existing model as the dimensions tip the scale at 4,300 mm in length, 1,770 mm in width, 1,580 mm height and with a wheelbase of 2,600 mm.

Internationally, the SX4 S-Cross is powered by a 1.6-litre, in-line four cylinder engine that generates 117 bhp of power and 320 Nm of torque. In India though, the SX4 S-Cross will receive the Fiat sourced 1.3 litre turbo diesel motor that will produce 90 bhp of power. The SX4 S-Cross may also receive Suzuki’s “Allgrip” all-wheel-drive system as an option.

The new compact crossover from Maruti is expected to go on sale next year and will go up against the likes of the Ford Ecosprort, Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano and other hatchbacks on stilts like the VW Cross Polo and the Toyota Etios Cross.
