Japanese car maker Suzuki will step into the ultra competitive and fast developing world of  compact SUVs with the unveiling of its iV-4 Compact SUV Concept on September 10 at the 2013 edition of the Frankfurt Motor Show.

Suzuki recently published a new teaser video of its iv-4 Concept. Seen on the next page are some stills from this video.

The Suzuki iV-4 is likely to be based on the Suzuki XA Alpha concept that we saw at the Delhi Auto Expo last year and hence, there are good chances that the iV-4 and the XA Alpha would be seen sharing plenty of design cues.

From whatever can be made out from this video, we can expect the upcoming concept to have a slight ‘power bulge’ on the hood, a grill that seems to have been borrowed from the XA Alpha concept and auxiliary lamps on the hood. Suzuki says that the car’s exterior styling portrays ‘modernity and innovativeness’.

The iV-4 Concept is likely to spawn a Ford EcoSport and Renault Duster, with it being closer to the latter in terms of dimensions. Also, the “Grab your field” tagline hints that the upcoming car could have at least some off roader credentials, with 4×4 tranny thrown in as an option. The production spec iV-4 is likely to go on sale in early 2015 and we expect Maruti to bring the compact SUV to India soon after its international debut.

The Suzuki iV-4 will be showcased alongside the Alto, Splash, variants of Swift, new  SX4 S-Cross, Jimny, Grand Vitara and Kizashi at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.

Stay tuned to Motoroids for more updates on the upcoming Suzuki iV-4 Compact SUV concept.
