The Suzuki Hayabusa has always been a popular choice among thrill seekers and is also one of the most common superbikes that can be seen on the roads of India today. We had earlier brought to you a report stating that Suzuki was planning to locally assemble the Hayabusa in India.

Now, the company is all set to start the manufacturing of the 2016 model of the Hayabusa which would result in a price reduction of the superbike. The company will be bringing the Hayabusa through the CKD route and will result in a price cut of Rs. 2.3 lakhs. The current model of the Hayabusa comes through the CBU route with a price tag of Rs. 15.95 lakh (Ex-Showroom, Delhi).

This reduction in price could possibly result in a dent for the sales of its rival, the Kawasaki ZX-14R, which retails at a price of Rs. 17.9 lakh (Ex-Showroom, Delhi) as it comes through the CBU route. Suzuki has allocated a special production line that would be responsible for the assembly of the Hayabusa at the company’s plant in Manesar, near Gurgaon.

The Suzuki Hayabusa is powered by a 1340 cc 4-Stroke, 4-Cylinder, Liquid-cooled, DOHC engine that produces 197 hp of power and 155 Nm of torque. This engine sends power to the rear wheel via a 6 speed transmission. The 2016  Hayabusa in currently available in 3 dual tone colour variants- Candy Daring Red with Metallic Mystic Silver, Pearl Bracing White with Metallic Mystic Silver and Metallic Thunder Gray with Glass Sparkle Black.

The reduction in price will possibly result in a larger demand for the Hayabusa in a country such as India which is witnessing a several fold increase in the superbike market from the past few years. The Suzuki Hayabusa assembled in India will be available from the Suzuki Big Bike dealerships for INR 13,57,135 (Ex-showroom Delhi) starting March 2016.
