Our friends at BikeAdvice seem to have stumbled upon an interesting new model in the Pulsar family. What you see in these pictures may very well be a smaller engined Pulsar. The images were clicked somewhere in Pune – the home of Pulsar. However, those images aren’t sharp enough images to enable us to make out any prominent differences. That leaves us with a lot to speculate. But the fact remains that this is some new variant in the Pulsar family.
While it’s common knowledge that Bajaj is planning a bigger, more powerful Pulsar based on the KTM 390, there is another Pulsar model which is being worked upon. This new model would be a smaller than 200cc model in the Pulsar range, as mentioned by Rajiv Bajaj a while ago.
While the images are too hazy to figure anything with certainty, a few changes which are apparent are the position of the hugger above the rear tyre, and a possible omission of disc brake at the rear. The swing-arm also seems to be aluminium finish, unlike the black finished unit on the Pulsar 200NS. The tyres too may be slightly undersized than the ones on the 200NS, but in all honesty, with those fuzzy images we cannot be sure.
This may well be a smaller engine Pulsar, or possibly a visual upgrade to the current Pulsar 200NS to bring some excitement back into the brand.
