Star Motorcycles, a US cruiser motorcycle brand and a division of Yamaha Motor Corporation, USA has introduced new variants of its bobbers – Bolt and Bolt R for 2015. Both the Bolt and Bolt R-Spec are powered by the same 950cc, air-cooled, V-Twin engine that produces around 80 Nm of torque and is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
While the Bolt and Bolt R could be called cruiser, their behaviour is very different than that of the cruisers. The engines are tuned in such a way that along with cruising capacity, these two motorcycles are capable of sporty maneuverability and high-speed thrust. The company claims to achieve fuel efficiency of around 23kmpl for both the motorcycles.
The new Bolts receive new components such as new digital meter with clearer visibility in the sunlight and wave-type brake rotors. The R edition gets new paint and graphics, suede texture seat with coloured stitching and remote reservoir shocks.
Both these motorcycles would be up for sale in the US by the end of July. The Star Bolt will be available in candy red and glacier blue colours whereas the R-Spec can be ordered in matte silver and raven colours. The Star bolt is priced at USD 7,990 (approximately Rs 4.73 lakh) and the Bolt R will be priced at USD 8,390 (approximately 4.97 lakh).
