Our friends at Indian Autos Blog has managed to click the first pictures of what looks like an upgraded Tata Nano. The car, caught testing in Pune, looks like the current Nano until you look at the area above the rear windscreen. There are two hinges on the two ends. These hinges will help the rear windscreen to pop up and provide an inlet for stuff to be put in. The hinges have been circled in the image.
Such an arrangement would probably as for the parcel tray in the Nano to be removable. One cannot be sure if the new car also features some changes in the interior or mechanicals. Tata was expected to come out with an upgrade of the Nano in 2011 and this test mule is testimony that the rumours were true. We are expecting features like adjustable seats, power steering, 5-speed transmission and better interiors in the new car.
