New Mahindra Bolero

Spied: Upcoming Mahindra Bolero (U301) snapped near Manali

Mahindra new Bolero

Summer’s coming, so Mahindra decided to ditch the sunny environs of South India and have now taken their upcoming Bolero, codenamed U301, to the cooler climes of Manali. While strolling around in some camouflage that closely resembles the appearance of members of the Night’s Watch, one of our avid readers Vicky was quick enough to capture this overtly dressed Mahindra Bolero before it crossed over the Great Wall of snow in Rohtang. Interestingly, Mahindra is testing the vehicle without any spare tyre hanging on the tail-gate this time, while steel wheels have been replaced on this test mule by alloys, we also noticed the addition of some side steps.

Interestingly, replacing the spare tyre on the tail-gate is some device that looks more like a desktop computer’s CPU cabinet, but could be something that might be measuring the funny gases that come out of the exhaust, as diesel vehicles tend to emit more of that black stuff where the oxygen is as rare as sparrows in Bombay. Expected to be launched sometime next year along with a sub-4 meter compact SUV, codenamed S101, the new Bolero is being developed on a shorter version of the new ladder-frame that it shares with the new Scorpio.
