South India based two wheeler maker TVS has been caught testing not one but two vehicles in India. These vehicles were spotted testing by Mr. Lalu Krishnan S, a Gaadi.com reader.
While one of these two scooters could be the upcoming TVS Scooty Zest, the other test mule is that of the TVS Neo step thru.
The upcoming variant in the Scooty range of female specific automatic scooters is likely to be launched in early 2014. While not much is known about the upcoming TVS Scooty Zest, it is expected that the scooter would sport a new look and will come with some new features that would add more value to the next model in Scooty line up. Mechanically, the scooter is expected to remain the same as other variants. The Zest could also become the new flagship variant in the Scooty range.
With the addition of the TVS Scooty Zest, Hosur based Indian bike maker would have a really wide range of scooters in its product portfolio. The recently launched Jupiter scooter seems to be promising enough to eat into the sales of the very popular Honda Activa and the upcoming Scooty Zest would complete the TVS line up of automatic scooters by targeting the Activa-i/Dio.
Talking about the TVS Neo, the step thru has slim chances of coming to us. The Neo is on sale in Indonesia and Myanmar, where there is a huge market for step-thrus.
The TVS Neo is powered by a single-cylinder, four-stroke, air-cooled, 109.6cc engine that has a max power of 8.5 bhp and peak torque of 8.5 Nm. The motor comes attached to a 4-speed gearbox.
