Tata Nexon Special Geneva Edition

SPIED: Tata Nexon caught testing without camo

The Tata Nexon upon launch, will announce the car maker’s maiden foray into the compact SUV segment. A crowd puller at auto shows since it was first displayed at the 2016 Auto Expo, a production ready example was recently caught testing without any camouflage.

What looks like the final version of this smart looking vehicle, the Nexon’s production version stays true to the concept and looks cheerfully different with those large wheel arches, a sloping shoulder line, high set tail-lamps, a smiling front and modern design influences. To come equipped with roof rails, projector headlights, DRLs, snazzy alloys, the Nexon will tick most items on a compact SUV buyer’s wish list. The cabin too will be decked up with most bells and whistles and stick true to the manufacturer’s repute of fitting sweet sounding audio systems in their new cars.

Power will come from a Fiat sourced 1.3-liter diesel and a 1.2-liter Revotron petrol. While a 5-speed stick option will be standard, we expect an AMT variant too. The recently showcased Nexon Geneva Edition came fitted with a 1.5-liter diesel motor and a 6-speed manual box. We’d be surprised if that finds its way inside the India-spec Nexon too. The car is slated for launch by the end of 2017, however, we expect this vehicle to make a splash around the festive season.
