Some days back, our good friends at Motorbash caught a Tata Nano with a two tone paint job. Industry insiders say that Tata Motors is busy testing a limited edition variant of the entry level hatchback. The Nano LE is draped in red and black and gets a dash of silver paint on the Outside Rear View Mirrors (ORVMs). Other than playing with an assortment of color shades, Tata Motors have come up with a new design for the wheel covers. We wonder if the limited edition of the car will get a front disc brakes set up that we saw at the Delhi Auti Expo that was held in January. In all probability, the Nano Limited Edition, would be introduced to the market at the onset of Diwali season. It may be noted that the above mentioned period is considered auspicious for new car purchase by many and it is a good opportunity for Tata to slip in the Nano LE at a competitive price point. Tata has been trying hard to do away with Nano’s ‘poor man’s car’ image and has launched the Nano Online Merchandise Store today. It will be interesting to see if special offers and a limited edition variant of the entry level hatchback will help the sales of Nano.
