SPIED: Bajaj Pulsar CS400 test mule spotted for the first time

The much-awaited 400cc offering from Bajaj, the Pulsar CS400 (Cruiser Sport) has finally been spotted doing rounds during its pre-production test runs. First showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo, the motorcycle has been longed for from a very long time. After its appearance in 2014, Bajaj Auto rolled out many different Pulsars in the market, but the Pulsar CS400 was never seen. The two-wheeler maker was absent from the 2016 edition of the Expo and thus there were no details about Bajaj’s upcoming product portfolio. But as we just mentioned, the spyshots have emerged revealing some details of the bike.

First of all, how are we so sure that it is the Pulsar CS400 in the spied images? The bike features two info-displays – one on the obvious place above the flat handlebar and the other on the fuel tank. The display on the instrument cluster shows the tachometer, trip meter, odometer and the fuel gauge, while the other smaller display puts up the digital speedo and gear indicator. The body work, seat, headlamp and the twin LED stripes on the taillight units are also distinctive of the power cruiser from Bajaj. It rides on split-spoke turbine style alloys.

While all of the stance, body parts and the silhouette is identical to the Bajaj Pulsar CS400 model displayed at the 2014 Auto Expo, there is still a slight dissimilarity between the two. The Pulsar CS400 in the spyshots, feature a conventional suspension kit at the front instead of the inverted suspension forks that were present on the concept model. This alteration must be in regards with the cost cutting exercise.

Powering the Bajaj Pulsar CS400 (Cruiser Sport) might be a single cylinder liquid cooled 373.4cc engine (likely of the 390 Duke) that will be tuned to fire out 40 Bhp of power. As the Pulsar CS400 has not been spotted for the first time, it can be said that the launch is not too far.
