Regulars here would remember that we recently posted spy pics of a test mule of an upcoming TVS Wego-based scooter that the Hosur based South Indian bike manufacturer TVS Motors is busy readying for a Diwali launch (Launch date courtesy our sources in Chennai). There are good chances that this scooter would be a ‘male specific’ offering and would battle it out against the recently launched Yamaha Ray Z, Honda Aviator and Suzuki Access 125 automatic scooters.
Today, another pic of the upcoming TVS scooter has surfaced on the cyber space.
We know from our sources that the upcoming TVS vehicle will come with a drum brake and will have alloy wheels. It isn’t yet clear if the front suspension will consist of telescopic shock absorbers. Also, it isn’t for sure but there are good chances that the wheels would measure 10 inches in diameter. A highlight of the upcoming scooter will be the positioning of the fuel filler cap, which will be positioned right above the rear tail lamp.
We also know that the instrument cluster of the upcoming scooter is pretty ordinary and is similar to that of most scooters in 100-125cc scooter segment. This means that unlike the Rodeo, the upcoming TVS scooter doesn’t boast of digital speedo and the likes. However, the scooter does sport a shutter type key lock mechanism.
We won’t be too surprised if the scooter comes to us with a 125-135cc engine. It would be interesting to see if TVS Motors, which is a scooter specialist, would be able to give sleepless nights to the boffins at Honda Scooters and Motorcycles India.
