The Skoda Rapid is the cheapest sedan in the VW Group owned Czech car maker’s product portfolio and has been doing good numbers on the sales charts of most car markets it is sold in. While India spec Rapid is basically a re-badged VW Vento, albeit, with revised front end and with some features omitted, the Rapid on sale in most international markets is visually an entirely different looking car.

The international spec Skoda Rapid will soon get a sportier variant that goes on sale with the Rapid S moniker.

The Skoda Rapid gets quite a few visual changes for the S variant. These changes include a set of smoked headlamps, a new front bumper, a new set of foglamps, bolder wheel arches, larger wheels, a set of new alloys, re-designed ORVMs, side skirts, rear spoiler, sporty exhaust tips and a new rear bumper that comes with a new diffuser.

Skoda hasn’t yet revealed the details of the interiors but it is expected that the car will get an all black treatment, illuminated door sills, a sportier steering wheel, sports pedals and a smaller steering wheel.

Skoda has also not revealed the details of the powertrain but from what is being said, the car would be considerably more powerful than the current flagship variant that has a 105bhp engine. It is also not known if the suspension of the Rapid S would get some fine tuning for a more confident handling package.

We so wish an India-spec Rapid S too soon make an appearance. What about you?
