Today, Skoda Auto unveiled its largest workshop facility in India, in association with SGA Cars India, at Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu. Built in line with the brand’s corporate design, the new state of the art service facility was inaugurated by Mr Zac Hollis, Director of Sales, Service and Marketing in Skoda Auto India and Mr S. Arputharaj, who is the Dealer Principal of SGA Cars India. Skoda India has inaugurated this workshop under the ‘INDIA 2.0’ project, which aims to increase the approachability and convenience of the Czech brand by multiplying its dealer network across fifty new cities, over the next three years.
With the inauguration of this modern and large-scale workshop facility in Coimbatore, Skoda Auto aims to further strengthen its position in Tamil Nadu, and expand its campaign of establishing a strong base in the southern markets of India. The new service outlet is strategically located on the Uppilipalayam Main Road, in Sowripalayam and is spread over an area of 49,585 sqft. The workspace is equipped with over 50 bays and has the capacity to service more than 20,000 Skoda vehicles every year, thanks to the 40+ members in the dedicated aftersales staff. The workshop also houses rainwater harvesting capabilities, which is a small initiative by Skoda’s ‘Green Future’ vision.
