Jehan Daruwala

Jehan Daruvala, one of the youngest prodigy racers from India who started his career at the age of 7, is all set to jump into the big league of Formula racing. The seventeen year old will be racing at Silverstone on 14th and 15th May, 2016 in the Formula Renault 2.0 NEC 2016. Mumbai born Jehan is the only Indian to participate in the upcoming Formula Renault 2.0 NEC at Silverstone.

The 2016 Formula Renault 2.0 Northern European Cup will be the eleventh Formula Renault 2.0 Northern European Cup season, an open-wheel motor racing series for emerging young racing drivers.

This will be Jehan’s second season at Silverstone.  In the first season, last year in 2015, Jehan escaped a massive crash at Formula Renault 2.0, Eurocup series at the same venue. Jehan’s car slid sideways into the gravel,  flipped twice before landing upside down on the tyre wall. Luckily, Jehan escaped the crash without any major injury. At the next race, the following day, Jehan finished 0.9 secs off the fastest driver’s time.

The youngest driver on the grid, Jehan was also the quickest, but, managed to secure P6 for  race one due to a minor infringement that put him out of contention for pole position

“I’m quite excited to race there. I was quite competitive in my times there last year and am hoping to have a podium there this time after last years unfortunate crash.
The NEC this year in my opinion is as competitive as the Eurocup as the driver line up is practically the same.” said, Jehan Daruvala.
