Only yesterday we reported that Fiat India will be launching the new Linea Facelift in the 1st week of March. (Click here to read about it). Now, it has emerged that Fiat India has commenced the testing of the new Punto facelift. These test mules were spotted by Team-BHP member Karan561 on the outskirts of Pune.
The Fiat Punto facelift is expected to be launched in India this year. This facelift will merely be a cosmetic upgrade, and will carry over the engine and transmission.
Speaking of the changes in the facelift, the car will come with new headlamps and a redesigned front bumper. The front grille on the car is new. The fog lamps on the car will also be new. At the rear section, the new Fiat Punto Facelift will get new tail lamps and a redesigned rear bumper. The interior of the car will boast of a new dashboard.
Speaking of the powertrain, as aforementioned, the new Fiat Punto facelift will come with the same engines and transmissions. The 1.3 liter Multijet diesel engine, which comes in two states of tune- 75bhp-197Nm and 90bhp-209Nm, will do the duty in the diesel trims. The petrol Fiat Punto facelift will be powered by the 1.2 and 1.4 liter engines producing 68bhp-96Nm and 90bhp-115nm respectively. All the engines will come mated to the 5 speed manual transmission.
Along with the Punto facelift, Fiat will also be launching the Avventura(cross Punto) and the Abarth 500 after the new Linea facelift. Stay tuned to Motoroids for more updates on the new Fiat Punto facelift India launch.
