Volkswagen recently unveiled the new 2014 Volkswagen Scirocco facelift, which is all set to have its public debut at the upcoming 2014 Geneva Motor Show next month.

It has been more than six years since the current gen Scirocco made its public debut and hence, a facelift for the ageing model is a step in the right direction by VW. The recent nip and tuck should keep the model fresh of another couple of years, before the advent of the next gen model.
Chenges on the outside incude a mildly revised front bumper, new bi-xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights and a new grille, which again isn’t too different from the one it replaces. At the rear, the car gets revised LED taillights, a revised bumper and a new boot lid.
The new Scirocco also gets a new flat-bottomed leather-wrapped steering wheel, new air vents and revised instrumentation, which seems to have come from the Golf GTI. The cabign gets a “Dynaudio Excite” audio system, a ParkAssist system and a covered storage compartment near the handbrake. Also among the new features are stop/start system and battery regeneration mode for all the engine variants except for the Scirocco R. The motors also get a new six-speed manual gearbox and an optional dual-clutch DSG transmission.
The base 1.4 TSI engine variant gets additional 3 HP and the three 2.0 litre TSI vairants also get a power boost ranging from 10 HP to 20 HP. The 2.0 TDI variants also get a power boost of upto 10 HP.
The 2014 Volkswagen Scirocco facelift launch in Europe will happen in August.
