Volkswagen revealed the 2015 Jetta facelift earlier this year and the car made its public appearance at the New York Auto Show. Now, according to an entry on Zauba.com, it can be seen that the new 2015 Volkswagen Jetta has landed on the Indian shores for homologation.
The 2015 Volkswagen Jetta features a Passat-like look on its front fascia with optional bi-xenon headlights and LED daytime running lights. At the rear section, the sedan gets a revised trunk lid with a spoiler along with LED taillights for the GLI and Hybrid versions. According to the company, the 2015 Jetta has been aerodynamically optimized. The interior of the car has also gets minor tweaks. Mid and top-end variants now get chromed edges for the dash and gauges, as well as a new multi-function steering wheel, updated air vent controls and piano black accents.
The 2015 Volkswagen Jetta comes with the following electronic aids :
- Blind Spot Detection
- Rear cross-traffic alert
- Frontal collision warning system
- Park Distance Control
Powering the new Jetta will be a new 2.0T TDI EA288 engine which returns an estimated 45 mpg on the highway.
Efficiency improvement across the Jetta lineup is a result of improved aerodynamics and a reduction in rolling resistance. The car will be available with Bi-Xenon headlights with LED Daytime Running Lights and Adaptive Front-lighting System are now available on select models.
The car will be underpinned by the PQ35 platform (Golf V). The 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter turbocharged diesel motor now outputs 150 bhp (112 kW), which is a 10 bhp improvement from the earlier 140 bhp. This engine when paired with the manual transmission will have an fuel economy figure of 32 mpg city / 45 highway / 37 combined.
