It’s said that “Happiness is a motorcycle, a full tank of gas, and green lights”. True indeed, bikers wish to stop at nothing- probably if not for the fuel and terrain limitations, a few riders would love to circumvent the globe over and over again. Though nothing much could be done about the fuel constraints, but for the terrain there’s definitely a solution- at least the blokes at Gibbs Sports Amphibians Inc think so.
Say hello to Biski- sounds like a cute name for a pet dog, but that is what Gibbs Sports have badged their new amphibious motorcycle- logically it does sound right blending the words Bike and Ski together. So the Bikeski is Gibbs’ creation and an addition to their existing lineup of amphibious vehicles that include the Quadski (amphibious ATV for recreational and commercial use), Triski (amphibious Trike) and the Terraquad (an even bigger amphibious ATV).
The Biski is a pretty powerful unit with claimed power figures of 55 bhp on water- enough to keep that front wheel airborne when cutting across a local lake. Not many details have been provided- not even the price has been listed on their WEBSITE unlike their other products which have a detailed listing of the cost and the technical specifications. Gibbs is looking out for dealers to market the Triski which means the product is past the concept stage and ready for sale.
The amphibious motorcycle could never replace your hardcore blacktop scorching machine (it corners pretty well though), but would make a great recreational weekend tool. Here’s a video of the Biski in action:
