We’ve just received an official note from Royal Enfield about a launch event at Juhu Beach on the 29th of September. The company in its official statement talks about the launch of two ‘iconic leisure bikes’. Now we always had a hunch that RE was planning to launch the Classic Chrome 500 and the Desert Storm 500 – the invitation only confirms the news. Dr. Venki Padmanabhan, CEO, Royal Enfield and Mr. Shaji Koshy, Sr VP- Sales & Marketing, Royal Enfield will be present at the event.
The Classic Chrome 500 and the Desert Storm are cosmetic upgrades (rather comprehensive though) of the RE Classic series. Both the motorcycles are essentially new paint schemes for the Classic 500 line, with some added accessories thrown in. Powering both the machines would be the 499cc UCE engine with 27.2bhp of peak power and 41.3Nm of car-like torque. Here we have some images of the two models for you. Whet your visual appetite!
