Fans of the hardy Mitsubishi Montero rejoice. A new report suggests that a face-lifted version of the same is making a comeback to India as soon as September 2016. The asking price – a steep INR 70.43 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai). This is because the face-lifted Montero will be launched in the country via the CBU route, but still, considering the last one was sold for around INR 40 lakh, the absurdly inflated price is hardly justified. Bookings for the SUV are said to have commenced at Mitsubishi dealerships in Mumbai, with the token amount being INR 10 lakh. Deliveries though, are expected to start from October 2016.
On the outside, the face-lifted Mitsubishi Montero gets a new bonnet, a redesigned chrome grille and new front bumper with LED daytime running lamps. New 17-inch alloy wheels, revised body cladding and a rear fog lamp round off the exterior upgrades. Inside, there’s a subtly redesigned dashboard with chrome and wood accents, leather seats and a Rockford Acoustic Design premium sound system. As for the 3.2-liter DI-D (Direct Injection Diesel) engine, it now makes 165 PS of power and 373 Nm of torque, while the Montero’s legendary off-road prowess is taken care of by the Super Select 4WD II that lets you shift between 2H, 4H and 4HLc modes at speeds of up to 100km/h.

It is not 165ps it is 141kw which is equivalent to 191ps and 441nm of torque not 373nm as mentioned. Pls correct it.
