Rendered: Is this how the KTM 390 Adventure will look?

KTM might have swept the Indian motorcycling enthusiasts off their feet and clocked huge sales figures but the Austrian manufacturer is in no mood to slow down. KTM will soon announce the RC series for the Indian motorcycle market which will be the fully faired versions of company’s current offerings, the 200 Duke and 390 Duke. But these bikes have been spotted testing over a dozen of times and hardly excite the readers and followers anymore.

What’s making news is the speculation of an adventure variant of the 390 Duke which the company is likely to launch in 2015. Automotive website Dueruote has posted a rendering which showcases the expected look of this upcoming motorcycle.

The KTM 390 Adventure will share the chassis and swingarm with the 390 Duke. However, it will receive a different set of wheels and tyres, a retuned gearbox, taller suspension, readjusted footpegs, bigger tank and a larger fairing to match its touring/off-roading nature. The powermill on the 390 Adventure is likely to be similar to the one that is found on the 390 Duke. So expect a 375cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that would produce 43 bhp of power.

KTM is likely to produce the 390 Adventure at Bajaj’s Chakkan plant in Pune. Local manufacturing will keep prices very competitive. We hope to see the KTM 390 Adventure at the 2014 EICMA in Milan.

What do you think of the KTM 390 Adventure? Would you like to buy this one or would you select the fully faired RC series? Share your thoughts and opinions through comments below. Stay tuned into Motoroids for more updates on the KTM 390 Adventure and all the news from the world of auto.

  1. As a Expat in India and keen on adventure trips the KTM endurance bike which is in the pipeline would be ideal for usage in the Himalayan hills ( Mussoerie )where I am stationed !!! Bring it on ASAP !!!!

  2. I really wanted a duke 390 – light, economical and fun. However, at 6’5 i do not fit on one. if i can squeeze on this enduro/adventure variant i will slap the cash on my dealer’s desk at the earliest opportunity.
