Renault Samsung Motors, the JV between French carmaker Renault and Korean group Samsung, have revealed the 2014 Samsung QM3 urban crossover at the ongoing 2013 Seoul Motor Show.

The new QM3 is basically a rebadged Renault Captur and the QM3 will be positioned below the QM5 aka Renault Koleos.

The QM3 becomes the first Renault car that has been rebadged as a Renault Samsung vehicle. So far, the only car to get rebadged were the Samsung cars and we have seen the Renault Samsung SM3, SM5 and QM5 being sold as Renault Fluence, Latitude and Koleos in many markets.

The only difference between the QM3 and the Captur is, of course, the badges and the QM3 is being targeted at young Korean car buyers who are on a look out for alternatives to traditional B-segment cars.

“Renault Samsung QM3 combines in a single compact vehicle the best of three worlds: the sportiness of an SUV, the convenient comfort of an MPV and the driving pleasure of a hatchback,” said Laurens van den Acker, Senior Vice President, Design, Renault Group.

It is being expected that the car would be powered by the same engines that power the Renault Captur.
