The Red Bull F1 Show Run made another pit stop in India, this time in the city of Hyderabad. After giving F1 fans a taste of Formula One on the streets of Mumbai, Delhi and at the dizzying heights of Khardung La, David Coulthard and his Red Bull F1 car ran riot across the streets of Hyderabad in search of some Biryani. The 13-time Gran Prix winner drove the car across the Tank Bund Road stretch and twice around the Hussain Sagar Lake, reaching speeds of 282 kph.
Lithuanian freestyle stunt biker Aras Gibieza opened the act with an inaugural performance, post which, Indian movie star Nagarjuna flagged off the F1 car. The event ended on a memorable note with Coulthard waving the Indian National Flag.
Nagarjuna’s son Chaitanya, member of legislative assembly K Taraka Ramarao, India’s foremost off-road racer CS Santosh and cricketer Varun Aaron were also present at the event.
Speaking about his second visit to India and driving the F1 car on Indian soil once again, David Coulthard said, “It’s good to be back in India. The F1 fans of this country have always given me a warm welcome. It’s my second time here and the enthusiasm in this country has only increased since my last visit. It’s always a special feeling to drive a Formula One car for the sheer thrill of the fans and it was incredible to take the car for a spin at such an iconic location. What made this show run even more special was that we are the first team to have driven a Formula One car on the streets of Hyderabad. This city and its enthusiasm is something I will remember long after I return home. ”
