Renowned actor and MTV VJ Rannvijay Singh recently joined the first ever Mahindra Mojo Mountain Trail. He rode with the Mojo Tribe through the Chandigarh-Leh leg between July 25 and 29, 2016. We speak to him about his experience with the Mojo Tribe in an exclusive interview. Below is the transcript of our interaction with Rannvijay:

Q: You rode the Mahindra MOJO for quite some distance during the Chandigarh-Leh leg of the MOJO ‘Mountain Trail’. How was your experience with the motorcycle?

A: The bike was really amazing and doing good speeds. The balance of the bike was wonderful and I never felt unstable on the bike. There was a fear about how the bike would perform on the bad roads but that’s where the bike really pulled through. It is easily one of the best tourer bikes.

Q: How was your experience with the fellow riders of the MOJO Tribe?

A: I have done this journey on bike before. But the difference was the Mojo Tribe – the whole experience of this ride was amazing. There was a sense of brotherhood and camaraderie among everybody. The discipline and a sense of belonging to the group were special. All of us were on the same bike; and the bike was really amazing by the way.

We would stop, eat together, chat and have fun. The brotherhood and camaraderie of the Tribe was to be experienced.

Q: What was the most challenging moment for you during the MOJO ‘Mountain Trail’?

A: At high speeds, another bike would vibrate but this bike is extremely stable. I was worried about when the slush, gravel and bad roads started but that’s when I really loved the suspension.

Q: You are a motoring enthusiast. Tell us a little bit about your garage? Which motorcycles/cars do you own and what rides do you plan to add in the future?

A: I would love to go for a ride to the North East in the near future. Hopefully, if the Mojo Tribe goes to the North East in future then I will tag along again. I have a few bikes and also like to customize them.

Q: You love to ride motorcycles. You also said in an interview, “If I am traveling for a shoot then I send my stuff in a car and ride (on motorcycle) to the location.” So what has been the most enthralling ride till now?

A: For me, riding is like meditation away from all the small stresses of life. Like, if you are riding well, the experience is good. I would love to ride as much as I can since it enhances my personality and makes me happy.

Q: You are a part of various television shows. How do you manage your personal and professional life and still get time to ride?

A: I went for a bike ride today, getting-up at 6:30am and rode around Mumbai for 30 minutes until it started raining. It depends on people’s passion and sometimes few people get lazy about not finding time.

Q: You have been associated with motorcycles for a very long time. As an experienced rider and a motorcycle enthusiast, what would be your message to the young riders in the country?

A: There is a certain kind of preparation that you must do. You must wear the right gear. All the Mojo Tribe members were wearing the right kind of jackets, guards, helmets and gloves. You need to prepare for the terrain. As we were going on high altitude, it was made sure that all riders were carrying sufficient water. If you are going to sunny areas, you carry along sun-screen and check the tyre pressure. Make sure, you know the route, where to stop and where not to stop. Youngsters should always wear the right gear. If one observes certain rules and regulations, then they will always be riding without any accidents. I have seen many people going unprepared for the ride and later suffering throughout the ride — then you don’t enjoy the ride.
